CHEE YONG
A trained engineer, Chee Yong ventured serendipitously into the field of cinematography and fell in love with the creative process. He is always on the lookout for ways to craft dynamic and visual stories. As a certified drone operator, he sometimes take his camera to the air to find that perfect shot.
He got his first break at commercial videography recording the “Behind-The-Scenes” video during a photo-shoot for a new deejay line-up at a local radio station. What started off as a trial during an assignment, became a short feature for the radio-station on their YouTube channel and the rest is history.
Encouraged by this, he went on to work on several other projects, which include:
- Singapore Discovery Centre’s HOPE.HEART. HOME exhibition 2010– 8 short feature videos in HEART segment, featuring unsung-heroes in the heartlands of Singapore, which includes Palliative Care Nurses, Social Workers, Volunteers and Counsellors;
- Pathlight School Satellite Partnership Model– A video documentary commissioned by Pathlight School to feature one of their programs which looks at inclusion for special needs students in mainstream schools;
- Paradise in the City– An aerial cinematography piece capturing breath-taking aerial views of parks and reservoirs found in Singapore. Video was featured on Ministry of National Development’s Facebook page in August 2015.
